Application

  • How to clean the paving lights?

Within a certain period of operation the paving lights can be soiled with dust and results in the loss of their brightness and color contrast. Such a problem can be easily solved with the help of a plastic brush (mildly hard), and water from a hose. Also you can add some regular liquid soap or, in case of necessity, you can wash it with a high pressure water spray used for a car. After such treatment your paving lights will shine again in vivid and bright colors.

  • Is it possible to install the lighting elements into an existing pavement?

Yes, it is possible. It is bit complicated, but nevertheless still possible. The idea is to dismount a necessary quantity of rows of existing paving elements to lay down the cables in the gravel. Then you have to connect them all together on one side and return the paving elements to their place. Incurred gaps between the paving elements have to be filled with sand. You can do that with a brush with polymer fibers. In particular cases, it might be necessary to seal the lighting stones with cement to ensure the safety of the installation. We hope to provide some instructional pictures and videos to show how to do that in the near future.

  • Is it possible to install the paving lights into the swimming pool?

Yes, it is possible. The paving lights are entirely water-proof (IP68) and able to accept a high mechanical pressure and also feed the voltage in safely. That is why they can be safely installed into the walls or the bottom of the swimming pool. The paving lights do not contain any metal or other parts predisposed to corrosion, and are neutral to chemical additives used for water treatment. Of course it is very important to perform all electrical and engineering calculations in advance, taking into consideration the cable length and the commutation scheme. All of Luxona's products are manufactured equipped with a cable 1.5 meters long. If it is not enough, then you will have to order the desired cable length according to your requirements (subject to additional surcharge 1.0 EUR/meter). Also it has to be taken into consideration that power convertors (transformers) have to be installed in a sealed box, above the water level.

  • Is it possible to apply the lighting pavement into the driveways where heavy vehicles operate on? What is the mechanical resistance of your lighting pavements? Could they accept a high mechanical pressure?

Luxona's products are manufactured from raw material, with extremely high mechanical features. According to the data sheets provided by the manufacturer, the material is able to accept the compressive strengths up to 137 Mpa, and flexural strengths to 90 Mpa. It is more than enough to allow even a heavy vehicle to drive over them without any problem. Thanks to their high mechanical robustness, our lighting stones (and paving lights) are commonly used for installations into the drive- and pathways of different types - asphalt, cement, concrete, gravel or natural stone pavement. Nevertheless it is not recommended to install the paving lights into driveways where the vehicles move faster then 40 km/h.
